Body Work | Interior | Under the Hood | A Brief History of Buick

These are photos of the interior of the car.

1954 Buick Roadmaster

Steering Wheel

This is the original steering wheel. As you can read in the center, this car came with power steering, which is in nice working order.

Another shot of the steering wheel.

Air Conditioning Duct Work

Original air conditioning duct-work. The plexiglass duct work protrudes from the condensing unit up to the driver on the driver's side, and up to the passenger side as well. (Note- There is a green vent on the back dash. This is the cool air outlet for the passengers in the back seat. There are two of those, one of which is not shown in the picture.)

More Air Conditioning Ducts

This is one of the other air conditioning vents for the back seat passengers. (That is the original upholstery on the ceiling, but it is very brittle. We believe that the upholstery on the back seat is also original.)

Under Seat Heater

This is the under seat heater for the back passengers.

Air Controls

Here are the controls for the air conditioning and the heating. We had removed the dash and painted it. The radio knobs had been removed to do this, and were not re-installed at the time this picture was taken. There is a spot to the right on the dash that looks a little rough. This is just a defect in the picture, as it was taken with a digital camera.

Steering Side Shot

This is a side shot of the steering wheel and floorboard.

Back Seat View

This is a view of the dashboard from the back seat. (Note- There is an ashtray in the back of the front seat, complete with original lighter, as you can see in the photo.)
